Northern Crane acquires Mullen

NC Services Group Edmonton, Alberta, Canada parent of Northern Crane Services and A-1 Crane Services, has acquired Mullen Crane and Transport of Soda Springs, Idaho.

Mullen’s was established nearly thirty years ago by Ray and Ellen Mullen in Soda Springs, it runs a Manitowoc and Grove crane fleet, which includes larger Manitowoc models, including an 18000 with Maxer attachment.

Mullen also provides transport and heavy lift services to the energy, chemical and petrochemical industries across Idaho, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and Utah.

Mullen Crane has built up a speciality in transporting and installing wind turbines.

As part of the transaction, Ray Mullen has been appointed to the board of directors of NC Services and will continue to manage Mullen Crane. He will also be investing in NC Services.

NC services was purchased by Northwest Capital Appreciation company, a Seattle based private equity firm, in 2006
