Gatwick to test Mini’s

Gatwick group the Horley, UK, based lifting and installation specialist is dipping its toe in the mini crane rental market with the purchase of two evaluation units, a Unic 295 and a Maeda 285. The Unic will have tri-fuel power, petrol/propane and AC electric, while the Maeda is a Bi-Energy Diesel and Electric powered machine.

The company plans to monitor the performance and customer acceptance of the two units as well as taking time to evaluate the market. If all goes according to plan the company will expand this business which it feels compliments the work it already does with its articulated loader type cranes.

In addition to adding this new product line, Gatwick is also preparing to open a new location in Southampton. As part of this expansion the company has ordered another six cranes from Hiab the official opening date for the Southampton depot is planned for September.
