Loxam acquires Motormac

Loxam’s subsidiary in Brazil, Degraus (Degraus Andaimes Máquinas e Equipamentos para Construção Civil) has acquired Motormac Rental (Motormac Rental Locação Equipamentos)from the Velloso and Solheid families. Motormac was created from and includes Vellopar Participações and TPA Participações.

Based in Porto Alegre – on Brazil’s south east coast Motormac was established in 2007 and has built a strong market position in the South of Brazil, with a focus on powered access, power generation and lighting tower rental. It operates from nine locations across the Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Santa Catarina and São Paulo states, with 170 employees. The addition will take the Loxam Brazil network to 27 locations and almost double its revenues.

The Velloso and Solheid families will in future focus on other business within the group, including equipment distribution, which incldues JCB.

From now on, our efforts will focus on distribution of equipments and renewable energies.”

Loxam Degraus managing director Guilherme Boog, who will lead the combined business added: “I am very pleased to welcome Motormac Rental within the Loxam Group.
