Swedish distributor for JLG

JLG has appointed Zip-Up Svenska as its official distributor for Sweden, and at the same time plans to close its direct sales subsidiary in the country - JLG Sverige.

Zip-Up Svenska, which trades under the Zip-Up banner, will offer the full range of JLG aerial work platforms in Sweden, with responsibility for sales and service to both end users and rental companies.

Plans for the closure of JLG Sverige’s extensive premises in Kungsängen, north west of Stockholm, are still being finalised, but the aim is to cease all operations by the end of March. The company has 15 employees at the facility.

Karel Huijser JLG general manager for Europe, Africa and the Middle East region said: “Our decision is based on the current market in Sweden not growing to the magnitude we predicted three years ago. It should not be seen in any way as related to the performance and dedication of our local team members. We wish to express our appreciation and thanks to all our team members that have worked so diligently to serve our Nordic customers over the past years.”

Zip-Up Svenska was established by the late Peter Frisk in 1978, with Lennart Mattsson taking over in 1982. Two years later the company acquired Gothenburg based Instant Sweden from UpRight, becoming the UpRight powered access distributor for the whole of Sweden.

Rickard Holmlund of Zip-Up Svenska

In 2010 Rickard Holmlund took over as chief executive and became joint owner, eight years later he acquired the shares he did not own to become sole owner. Today the company operates from locations in Stockholm and Gothenburg and also distributes Dinolift boom and trailer lifts, Snorkel aerial work platforms, GSR truck mounts and Winlet glazing robots.
