Tower crane overturn

A tower crane overturned onto the roof of a house that it was helping to renovate in Neckargemünd – west of Heidelberg, Germany on Wednesday afternoon.

The self-erecting crane, an Arcomet T25A, was set up on the hill side and was being operated by remote control when its outriggers appear to have slipped off of a beam they were set up on, dropping into the foundations of the building causing the crane to overturn.

Fortunately, the operator was well out of the way at the time and the house was unoccupied, so no one was hurt. Once a technical accident inspector had checked out the scene a mobile crane was called in to remove the wreckage from the house.

Steel on steel? Outrigger pats not secured to steel beam?

According to my information, this Arcomet crane is owned by BMD not by Arcomet itself.
