Genies for Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s Expertise Contracting has taken delivery of 37 Genie boom lifts, including the 65ft S-65, the 85ft S-85 and the first two 135ft SX-135 XC booms to arrive in the country. The two SX-135s were ordered for a long term contract with chemical and metals company Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Corp (SABIC).

The S-65 provides 17.1 metres of outreach, while the S-85 offers 23.3 metres - both platforms have a maximum platform capacity of 227kg. The SX-135 XC has up to 27.4 metres of outreach and a maximum platform capacity of 454kg, whilst unrestricted capacity is 300kg. All units are equipped with Genie's Lift Guard secondary guarding system. This latest delivery takes the Expertise fleet of Genie platforms to 85.

A line up of Expertise's new machines

Director of industrial supplies Mohammed Ashraf said: “We have always been extremely satisfied with Genie aerial work platforms, as well as the reliable service support provided by our local Genie team and their service providers in the region. But when it comes to investing in new machines, finding the right financing solution is paramount. In this respect, Genie’s Gary Cooke introduced us to Muhammed Ajmal, Terex Financial Services manager for Saudi Arabia. They have proved to be a strong partner, and the terms offered were just what we needed to expand our fleet and support our business.”

“Expertise now offers customers the ability to do more and work faster and more easily using a single machine. Feedback from SABIC has been great. They are more than satisfied by the machines' capabilities that have proved a perfect fit for the maintenance of their sites. As far as we are concerned, the Genie SX-135 XC boom is a great investment. In fact so much so that we are already considering acquiring several more Genie Xtra Capacity units before the end of this year.”
