Cold store scissors

French cold store construction specialist Lèbre has taken delivery of 14 units of Genie’s 19ft GS-1932 scissor lifts.

The GS-1932 scissors offer a platform capacity of 227kg and an overall width of 810mm. The machines were provided by Genie’s authorised full service distributor SNM Lift. The new machines will be used for the installation of cold storage systems at the all new wholesale fresh food market in Nantes. Covering 50 acres/200,000 square metres, the site will also feature 32,000 square metres of rooftop solar panels that will generate five gigawatt hours of electricity a year.

Lèbre takes delivery of 14 Genie GS-1932 scissor lifts

Lèbre is a leading producer of cold store insulation products and systems, founded by Georges Lèbre in 1953. The company has been buying its own lifting equipment since 1980 and runs a fleet of aerial work platforms, telehandlers, fork trucks and material lifts. The company has been managed by Eric Lèbre since his father retired in 1989. The company also operates internationally from Hong Kong to Cuba and Brazil.

Chief executive Eric Lèbre said: “We already own more than 30 Genie machines, the majority of which are Genie GS-1932 electric scissor lifts. As far as we are concerned, Genie scissor lifts are the choice solution. In our line of business, zero emissions and low noise levels are a must have. However, we also need sufficient battery power to work efficiently for long shifts and an excellent level of manoeuvrability to adapt to busy work site environments. In our 15 years using mobile aerial work platforms, besides the great service provided by SNM lift, we have remained loyal to Genie because the machines are extremely robust and reliable. Uptime is a key focus, and in this respect, the Genie GS-1932 scissor lift ticks all the right boxes.”
