Lightweight Versalift

Time International is set to launch a brand new series of lightweight Versalift vehicle mounted platforms at Intermat later this month.

The new VTL - Versalift Telescopic Light - machines merge elements from two existing ranges - the ultra high strength, profiled steel boom design of the Versalift VT series with the low weight of the ETL series. The result is a lightweight telescopic platform for 3.5 tonne vans, chassis and pickups.

The VTL uses a new, larger all steel turret which is said to be significantly more rigid than that of the Versalift ETL, enabling a significant improvement in both working height and outreach, while maximum platform capacity is 265kg, although only on heavier chassis.

The Versalift VTL range is compatible with existing ETL and ETM vehicle installations using many similar mounting components. Because of this the VTL platform is already available in a range of sizes and configurations for popular commercial vans, chassis and pickups including the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Renault Master, Ford Transit, Iveco Daily and Ford Ranger.

The new range is designed and manufactured in Europe and feature powder coated booms with no exposed components or plastic covers for lower long term costs and easy maintenance.

The lower weight provides an in crease in the spare payload capacity. The A frame outriggers and the tail swing are also kept within the maximum width of the vehicle.

Time International sales director Per Cæsar Torp said: “With the VTL, we set out to push the boundaries in the industry and design the best possible vehicle mounted platform for installation on light 3.5 tonne vehicles, and I am happy to say that we have done just that.”
