This incident occurred this morning at a new six storey apartment block – Bow Corner – being built by Higgins Homes in the east end of London. The bricks and timber landed on a woman, Michaela Boor 29, who was walking past the site on the pavement/sidewalk at around 9:30 today. She is said to be fighting for her life and is in a critical condition in hospital.
We now have the sad news that Michael Boor has died from her injuries.

The scene this morning

Higgins Homes said it was aware of the incident and that road closures were put in place while emergency services dealt with the events. It later added: "Our primary thoughts and concerns are with the lady who has been injured and those affected today. We are working with the Health & Safety Executive who are investigating the incident to determine the cause and will release more information as soon as it’s available. Our priority at the moment is of course to make the area safe.”
