More Konecranes to Canada

Canada based Global Container Terminals (GCT) has ordered 10 40 tonne Konecranes rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes.

The cranes can stack one over five containers high and seven containers wide including a truck lane. They will be equipped with Konecranes’ Active Load Control system, which eliminates container sway, as well as the Autosteering feature, which keeps the crane on a straight, pre-programmed drive path.

Four of the cranes will go to GCT Vanterm in Vancouver, with the first being delivered early next year. The other six cranes will be delivered to GCT Deltaport, Delta, British Columbia at the same time. Both terminals together already operate 12 Konecranes RTGs.
