Magni goes direct in UK

Magni telehandlers has officially opened its new UK subsidiary for business, following the ending of its distribution agreement with the Forkway group at the end of 2017.

Forkway has been the official importer for the past three years, working under the trading name Magni Industries UK, but the two parties agreed to end the relationship in September with a 90 day notice period. In order for the Italian manufacturer to work directly with UK customers with the aim to increase market share.

The wholly owned subsidiary is headed up by Alex White who has worked with Magni and Forkway since 2015 as business manager UK and Ireland. See New head of Magni UK

The company is currently based in a shared office building but expects to take the keys to a new UK facility in Dorset by the end of March. The new building is part way through a major refurbishment and when finished will hold a stock of machines, and replacement parts, along with training facilities.

The company says that this is an interim facility, with longer term plans to move into a purpose built facility. The company has plans to exhibit at a number of events in 2018, including Vertikal Days in May, as well as organising demonstration road shows.
