Sangwin's first Liebherr

UK rental company Sangwin Plant Hire has taken delivery of a 40 tonne Liebherr LTM 1040-2.1 All Terrain crane.

The two axle crane features a 35 metre main boom, at which it can handle 7.4 tonnes when fully extended and 1.1 tonnes at its maximum radius of 31 metres. It has been specified with Liebherr's VarioBase outrigger setup system, and is the first Liebherr crane in the company's fleet.

Sangwin's new Liebherr LTM 1040-2.1

Sangwin operations director Andrew Fenton said: “The Liebherr brand is renowned for excellent quality and now that we have an LTM 1040, I can confirm that the attention to detail and quality has not disappointed. The process of sourcing a new crane can be a bit challenging but dealing with Liebherr from the start of the purchasing process right through to delivery has been flawless and carried out in a timely and professional manner. I hope to purchase more Liebherr cranes in the near future.”

Liebherr area sales manager Steve Elliott added: “The LTM 1040-2.1 is a popular choice for our customers. Like many others, Sangwin has opted for VarioBase, which really does make this compact two axle crane very versatile, especially on small job sites, potentially making it a good alternative to city type cranes in some cases. This new crane also adds to the rising numbers of Liebherr cranes in this region of the country.”

Based in Hull, Sangwin Plant Hire is part of the Sangwin group, a family run business established in the 1800s. The company runs a fleet of All Terrain cranes ranging from 15 to 160 tonnes, as well as aerial lifts and telehandlers.
