17. January 2018 | Comments (1)

US roofing contractor Empire Roofing has taken delivery of the first six production units of the new 4.5 tonne/17 metre Xtreme XR1055 telehandler.

Unveiled last March, the high pivot height North American style Xtreme XR1055 has a maximum lift capacity of 4,536kg, a maximum lift height of 16.7 metres, while the four section boom provides a maximum forward reach of 12.3 metres at which it can handle 1,360kg. The unit is powered by a Cummins Tier 4F diesel which does not require a particulate filter (DPF) or fuel additives (DEF) to meet emission standards. Gross Vehicle Weight is 15.7 tonnes.

The XR1055 has now gone into full production in Henderson, Nevada, with Empire Roofing taking the first six units off the production line, all painted in Empire’s blue livery.

Established in 1982 Texas based Empire specialises commercial roof replacements, repair and maintenance, and is said to be the eighth largest roofing contractor in the USA. The company employs over 700 full time staff, from its headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas, along with 11 branch locations in the USA plus two in Mexico. It also runs its own fleet of telehandlers, cranes and aerial work platforms.

The six XR1055 telehandlers will join the Texas based fleet, and were handed over by Xtreme’s business development manager for Western USA, Kevin Matthews, and Rex Casanover from Ahern Rentals National Accounts, who made the initial introduction.

Empire Roofing’s founder and chief executive Ronnie McGlothlin, said: “We discussed our material handling needs in detail with Kevin and Rex, and found that the new Xtreme XR1055 hit our sweet spot for lift capacity and lift height. The build quality was also a big draw for us, as we manage our own fleet and need equipment that is built to last and will handle the tough demands of our jobsites. I believe in purchasing the best equipment available, which ultimately benefits my employees and customers.”

Congratulation! These XTREME telehandlers are the best equipment available, have a great 360° visibility and long life boom rollers next to intuitive function and chassis sway operator controls with one arm. We would love to have those XTREME telehandlers also here in Switzerland.
