Mills chairman steps down

The chairman of Brazilian contractor, scaffolder and access rental company Mills, Andres Cristian Nacht is resigning from the company at the next shareholders meeting in April, in order to concentrate on personal and philanthropic projects. He is president of the not for profit micro credit company Viva Cred and a director of Vila Olímpica da Maré, which provides sports training schoolchildren.

His resignation after 48 years with the company, 20 of them as chairman, is part of a process to renew and modernise the company’s corporate governance.

The plan is for Roberto Pedote to chair the April meeting, with Elio Demier as co-chairman. Nacht’s daughter Francisca Nacht, a board member since 2014, will continue as a director.

Demier has 40 years of experience with Mills, and has sat on the board of directors for 20 years. Pedote has been a board member of since 2016.
The statement said: “The company thanks Andres Cristian Nacht, son of one of Mills' founders, for his great contributions and important role throughout the company's 65 years of history. His role was crucial for the consolidation of Mills, being a benchmark in its market segments”
