New Terex sales director

Terex Cranes has appointed Bill Cox as sales director for its North American operations. He replaces Mark Phillippi, who will retire at the end of the year.

Cox joins Terex from Tadano Mantis Cranes, where he has been a sales representative since 2011. He began his career in 1993 as a district sales manager at Stone Construction Equipment, moving to a similar same position at Genie in 2005. Three years before he took up a position with Kinze Manufacturing as a district sales manager. A year later he moved to the job at Tadano Mantis.

Vice president and general manager for Terex Cranes Americas Dean Barley said: “We welcome Bill to Terex to lead the North American cranes sales team. His passion for field sales support, distributor development, technical training and equipment applications assistance will help us to advance support of our customers’ success in the field. He brings to Terex nearly 25 years of construction equipment sales experience, which helps to strengthen our commitment to customers.”

Cox added: “I am excited to join the Terex Cranes team and am looking forward to working with customers, distributors and the rest of the Terex Cranes field sales team. Through the Terex and Demag brands, we offer companies the industry’s widest range of lifting solutions, backed by unparalleled applications expertise, to meet virtually any customer need.”

Bill Cox


After 16 years with Terex, Mark Phillippi will retire at the end of the year. His joined Terex in 2001 as general manager of Terex Asset Service, transferring to Terex Cranes as vice president, financial sales and later managed field sales for the central region. He is currently sales director for the south, west and Mexico territories, a role he has held since 2009.

Barley said: “We thank Mark for his years of dedication to Terex and the crane segment and for his tireless work ethic. His efforts helped to drive sales and fuel market growth for Terex Cranes throughout his region.”

Phillippi added: “Working with a great team and wonderful customers, my time in the crane industry and with Terex has been much more fun than work. I have enjoyed this industry and will cherish the friendships made over the years, both at Terex and in the field with our distributor representatives and customers.”
