Lifterz moves into Scotland

A new access rental company has opened in Scotland, Lifterz (Scot) a partnership between shareholders Leigh Baker, Jim Palmer and Osset based Lifterz.

Baker joins the company from Active Access which was acquired by Euro Mechanical Handling just over a year ago. Before that he was a part owner in Specialized Access with IAPS, which was sold to Quick Reach at the end of 2015. In 2008 he formed Lanarkshire based Pinnacle Platforms, selling it to Kimberly in 2010.

Lifterz (Scot) will concentrate on light access rental, sales and training, from a location in Bathgate on the M8 corridor, with access to the central belt of Scotland. The new company will share all marketing, infrastructure and operational procedures with Lifterz. The management team also includes operations director Jim Palmer, a senior IPAF Instructor and CAP assessed engineer.

At the same time Lifterz is opening a new Midlands depot in Daventry from where Ben Marvin who has been working for the company over the past year or so will be based. Lifterz said: “We have been servicing this area for some time, from the Ossett depot, mainly supplying out range of big scissor lifts. We also expect this depot to reduce our rehire bill.”

The new locations join the current operations in Osset, Yorkshire, Haydock, Lancashire and Sutton in Ashfield in the East Midlands.

Exciting to see the growth in the industry, from leading Independents to the consolidation from the Big Gorillas!! Innovative equipment will lead to new markets opening across the UK, so interesting times. Can't wait for my invitation to visit the team in Daventry!!!
