The German business, a System Lift partner, will be merged into Mateco Germany, while the Swiss location will be transferred to the newly formed Mateco Schweiz.

Kohler will now focus on its concrete building installation operation - its original business that dates back to 1990. The founders - brothers Ingo and Daniel Kohler purchased their first platform - an Omme trailer lift - in 1997 in order to help with the erection of pre-cast concrete buildings and began renting to others, developing it into a separate division.

This is the second bolt-on acquisition for Mateco in less than a month. Barely two weeks ago it acquired the aerial lift fleet and related business assets of Ludwigshafen-based Heintzelmann Autokrane. Heintzelmann will continue to operate as a mobile crane rental company under the direction of managing director Ralph Heintzelmann at its Ludwigshafen location. No details of that transaction have been released.

Speaking of the Kohler acquisition Mateco said: “We now have a new location in Rheinfelden and can offer our customers a larger rental park and a wider range of services. In this way, these customers can also be looked after optimally on site and access our proven height-access technology. We look forward to further exciting assignments at the Rheinfelden site and surroundings as well as in Switzerland in the future.”
