Saez for training

The National Construction Training Centre near Tullamore, Ireland has taken delivery of a five tonne Saez TL50 tower crane, equipped with the first operator elevator to be installed on a tower crane in the country.

The Saez TL50 has a 40 metre jib with a 1,550kg capacity at the tip, and will be used for training operators. The crane was delivered by Irish dealer Mantis Cranes, who also fitted a two man Geda 2PK elevator to the crane.

The cat head of the crane was also modified so that it could fit to a 1.7 x 1.7 metre tower, rather than the normal 1.2 x 1.2 metre tower.

The National Construction Training Centre manager John Kelly said: “We were very happy with Mantis Cranes from start to finish of the project. They were hands on making sure that our requirements were met. The jumbo cab is the perfect solution for our training purposes as it can hold the instructor and candidate. The modifications that Mantis made to the equipment work brilliantly and allow easy access without compromising on the security of the machinery.”
