Scholpp acquires IndustrieMontagen Thüringen

German lifting and industrial moving group Scholpp has acquired the ongoing business and key assets of industrial lifting and installation company IndustrieMontagen Thüringen, rescuing the business from bankruptcy.

Scholpp said that it will retain all of the employees, transferring them, along with the business to Scholpp's new operation in Erfurt, with location manager Kai Kretzer responsible for the integration of the new employees. Details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Scholpp chief executive Steffen Kühn said: “Scholpp was able to prevail against other well known buyers. The move expands our know-how, particularly in pipeline construction and hydraulics. As a result, we can provide our clients with greater project scope from within the business and thus improve the quality of execution even further.”

Scholpp's operation in Erfurt will absorb the IndustrieMontagen Thüringen business

Scholpp employs more than 1,200 at 16 locations in Germany and four international operations, completing almost 20,000 transport and installation jobs every year across 50 countries. The company was the subject of a 49 percent buy in by German private equity firm Odewald & Compagnie in 2013 and sold its day to day crane rental business to Martin Scholpp a year later.
