Fourth location for Star

UK rental company Star Platforms has opened a new depot in Aldermaston, near Reading, Berkshire – its fourth location.

This expansion has created six new jobs with an investment of over £3,000,000 in new equipment, predominantly from Skyjack, Niftylift and Power Towers. Established in 2014, Star Platforms is headquartered in Dunstable near Luton, and has three other depots in Coalville, Kent, and Reading.

Joint managing director Richard Miller said: “Earlier this year, the board decided to look for a new depot within the M3/M4 corridor in the Bracknell/Reading area. Our existing customers already undertake a lot of work within the new depot’s catchment area and we felt there was an opportunity to increase our offering and grow our customer base within this region.”

“The chosen facility, headed up by Depot Supervisor Craig Brown, was selected for its large concrete yard, cladded workshop, palisade perimeter fencing and an interceptor tank in the wash bay area.”

Operations director Ian Mitchell added: “Having achieved ISO 14001:2015 earlier this year, all our depots are set up to the highest standard, and this new location will be no different. With the excellent team we have put together to operate this new depot we are confident this new location will be a success for us.”
