AHS launches variable scissor cage

UK-based sales and rental company Aerial and Handling Services has unveiled a variable sized cage option for Airo push around lifts including the XP4, XP5 and XLP5E. The design has a 50mm narrower standard handrail width at 520mm and can reduce the length of basket from 1050mm to 520mm resulting in a 520mm square ‘micro cage’. This allows the platform to work in more confined spaces such as suspended ceilings.

Available from AHS - the UK distributor for the Airo platforms - it will also be available from Airo initially on the push arounds but may be expanded to larger scissor lifts in the future. The cage can be retrofitted to existing Airo platforms.

Ian Harding, director of Aerial and Handling Services, said: “We designed the variable cage following several enquiries from national rental companies who visited our stand at this year’s Vertikal Days show. We have listened to their requests and provided a practicable and simple fleet option.”

“The ability to reduce the platform size without swapping the platform does mean that as a construction site develops, these lifts can stay onsite longer without having to be replaced just to suit the fitout. Now one low level lift can be used in all areas.”
