Kalmar reachstackers for Fiji

Fijian terminal operator Fiji Ports Terminal has ordered three 45 tonne Kalmar DRF400-450 reachstackers and one empty container handler.

The DRF400-450, which can stack five containers high, has been ordered with SmartFleet remote monitoring and reporting to help improve operational performance. They will be delivered to the company later this year.

Fiji Ports Terminal chief executive Hasthika Dela said: "This new machinery will increase safety and productivity, improving operational efficiency at Fiji's largest port. The option to fit all machines with SmartFleet to monitor fuel consumption and environmental impact was one of the attractions of buying Kalmar in an effort to initiate the Green Port program, and to meet organisation's Environmental Management obligations."

Through our strong partnership with KP Industrial and strategically defined location to house our spare parts with our customers are guaranteed to experience an integrated one stop, total solution."

Fiji Ports Terminal manages and operates the ports of Suva and Lautoka on Fiji's largest island of Viti Levu. The new machines will join six Kalmar terminal tractors already servicing the Port of Suva, which handles container and general cargo, and has over 6,000 square metres of storage area.
