Cranes down in Miami

While the eye of Hurricane Irma skirted off to the west of Florida, missing Miami, its effects are still said to have brought winds of 100 mph or more, which so far has brought down two tower cranes, thankfully there are no reports of any injuries. UPDATE: A third crane came down in Fort Lauderdale to the North of Miami last night - two of the three cranes are operated by the same contractor/developer - The Related Group. Other cranes are withstanding the winds and weathervaning as planned, although one crane was reportedly caught on video spinning exceptionally wildly in the rough winds, and at times looks very close to collapse.

UPDATE: We have been informed that the spinning crane below was not in South Florida this week, but has been around for a month or two. Our source maintains that it was a live feed - either way it paints a picture.
