Gardemann name to go in merger with Mateco

TVH has released the preliminary details of its plans for merging Mateco and Gardemann in Germany.

Mateco chief executive Armin Rappen has overall responsibility for integrating the Gardemann acquisition and has confirmed that the two companies will be merged under the Mateco brand, to create a “new Mateco”, stating: “In this way, existing forces will be bundled and the long-term experience of both companies will be preserved.”

The plan is to have changes completed by the end of the year, in order to go into 2018 as a combined entity with 60 locations - 30 of them Mateco depots – and more than 10,000 platforms. The company has said that it plans to retain most, if not all jobs as it focused on “healthy growth and not on shrinking health.” Rappen also said: “Both companies have a very similar structure and are strategically focused on the same markets. Gardemann, like Mateco, can look back on over 40 years of experience, close customer relationships and a high degree of professionalism and corporate culture. And we all maintain a fair, fair deal with both customers and the workforce. Especially nowadays, these values are absolutely safe and sustainable for the future."

"I am sure that with the new organisation, we will be able to offer an even higher level of service quality and our customers will be thrilled by this performance. Mateco will strengthen and expand its market position. There are still many other, exciting challenges waiting for us and I am convinced that a long term relationship between Gardemann and Mateco will not stand in the way. With the joint brand power and both company employees as a closed unit, we will create the new Mateco of the future. Or, to express it with the motto of TVH ‘We Are One’."
