Demag AC 1000-9 for Steil

German crane rental company Steil Kranarbeiten has ordered a Demag AC 1000-9 All Terrain crane.

The nine axle crane - which Demag classifies as a 1,200 tonne class crane - has been ordered with the optional 100 metre main boom, and can be rigged with up to 126 metres of luffing jib, and a maximum system length of 163.3 metres. It also has 228 tonnes of counterweight available, and will be delivered to Steil in October.

Managing director Birgit Steil said: “Like no other crane in its class, the AC 1000-9 combines power with compactness, which makes it very versatile. And the optional 100 metre main boom allows us to realise challenging job sites like high rise wind turbine erection. Moreover, we know that we can rely on the Demag service support – they always have a solution ready for us. This was a very important point when we took our decision.”

Terex/Demag president Steve Filipov added: “Steil Kranarbeiten has been a valued customer for many years, if not decades. We are proud to serve them and to witness that Demag and quality are synonyms for our customers.”

Based in Trier, western Germany, Steil runs a fleet of over 100 cranes with capacities ranging from 30 to 1,000 tonnes.
