New Demag for Scholpp

German rental company Scholpp Kran & Transport has taken delivery of a 220 tonne Demag AC 220-5 All Terrain crane.

The five axle crane features an eight section 78 metre main boom, plus an 11.4 to 21 metre bi-fold swingaway extension for a 99 metre maximum tip height. Other features include all wheel steer with independent rear axle steering and a dynamic launch control for precise positioning of the crane in confined spaces, and IC-1 Plus control system. The IC-1 Plus system calculates the crane’s capacity, based on the actual outrigger and counterweight setting and will also maximise the capacity based on slew angle.

The AC 220-5 has been delivered

Managing partner Martin Scholpp said: “The fact that the Demag AC 220-5 has the biggest boom length of all five axle cranes on the market was definitely one of the main reasons why no other machine came close when we were making our purchase decision.”

Branch manager Heinz Schuh added: “It’s crucial for the crane to be able to lift high and wide while minimizing the required setup work. In fact, this is especially important for the indoor projects involved in our work with BASF. That’s why we ordered the crane with a hydraulic fly jib in order to extend the main boom.”
