David Webb 1974 – 2017

We have received the tragic news that David Webb of Falcon Cranes has died from the injuries sustained during the tower crane collapse in Crewe on June 21st.

Webb, 43, passed away on July 25th, he is the third fatality from the incident which also took the lives of David Newall, 36 and Rhys Barker, 18. Originally from Northampton he started his working life as an electrical technician with Express Lifts, which is based in the city, before joining Select Plant in 2002 - moving to Falcon in 2013. He passed away just six days after his father, Alan, had died.

In a statement released by the police, his family said: "He died doing a job he loved and was passionate about. Dave was a fun loving character who lived his life to the full. He was known for his large personality and sung his way through life."

He leaves behind partner Nathalie, children Maisy and Charlie, his mother Jenny, sister Julie and brother Mark.

The incident occurred on a site managed by Seddon Construction, chief executive Jonathan Seddon said: On behalf of all of us as Seddon, we offer our condolences to Mr Webb's family and colleagues at Falcon Tower Crane Service. Seddon is continuing to co-operate with the Police and Health and Safety Executive during the course of this investigation and remains committed to ensuring all reasonable measures are taken to keep people safe on our construction sites."

How very tragic for all concerned, reading the original report I thought it seemed that David's injuries were not life threatening when they were described as 'non critical'

My sincere condolences to all his family, friends and colleagues.

A very sad day indeed.
