500 lifts for AFI and Wilson

AFI has ordered 500 work platforms worth £7 million for its AFI-Uplift fleet including new truck mounts and spider lifts for the Wilson Access fleet.

The order includes a range of scissor and boom lifts from Skyjack, JLG, Genie, Haulotte and Manitou ranging in size from the 10 metre Haulotte Star 10 through to the 180ft Genie SX-180. As well as the SX-180 the company is also purchasing 10 other large booms for its large machine fleet, including four 63ft Niftylift HR21s, three 150ft JLG 1500SJ models and a 98ft Haulotte HA32PX articulated telescopic boom.

Wilson Access will gain three Palfinger truck mounted platforms - two 30 metre P300s and a 48 metre P480 - and two Hinowa 17.75 Lightlift tracked spiders.

AFI has now spent almost £60 million on fleet additions over the past three years.
