80 lifts for AFI GmbH

German aerial work platform and telehandler rental company AFI has taken delivery of 80 aerial lifts.

The order includes Skyjack electric scissor lifts ranging from 19 to 38ft, Genie electric scissors from 18 to 38ft, and JLG mast booms from 5.7 to 10 metres. The move follows the the recent acquisition of AFI by Riwal See Riwal acquires AFI Germany . The first set of lifts were delivered to AFI's locations in Hanover and Munich, and the remainder will be spread over the company's 12 other locations.

AFI managing director Søren Rosenkrands said: "The investment is a first step towards the long term rejuvenation of the entire fleet of AFI sites, making it more efficient and environmentally friendly. This is how we are consolidating our goal of providing customers with the best service they can get in our industry."

AFI GmbH was established in Hamburg in October 2003 with some initial support from AFI in the UK. It now runs a fleet of 1,300 machines across Germany with 110 employees.
