334 new Genies for Rapid

Rapid Access, Lavendon's Middle East operaton – now part of Loxam, has taken delivery of the first of 334 new Genie boom and scissor lifts.

The new machines include a wide range of telescopics, including the 180ft SX-180, 150ft SX-150, 135ft SX-135 XC and 125ft SX-125 XC. The mix of articulated boom lifts is topped by the 135ft ZX-135/70 on the new more compact X chassis. The first units have arrived in Qatar and Kuwait.

Rapid’s regional director for Qatar, Kuwait & Oman Michael Maynard said: “The extensive range of motion, and the extreme precision and manoeuvrability provided by the telescoping Jib-Extend design and new Mini X chassis which allows for transport on standard low bed trailers are among the key features that we were particularly impressed by. The increased platform capacities and new tri-entry baskets with these boom lifts are also ideal for the Middle East market.”

Country manager for Qatar James Davis added: “Given the large number of projects such as stadiums that are being built, we are expecting rental demand for high level boom lifts to be strong, so to support customers’ requirements, we selected large Genie booms, including the SX-125 XC, SX-135 XC, ZX-135/70, SX-150 and SX-180.”
