A truck mounted ladder

Spotted by a reader in Auckland, New Zealand, a man using his truck to extend his ladder for overhead work on a hotel entrance canopy.

The ladder will not reach so adding the truck just about reaches


Even then he is standing close to the top of his step ladder looking very precarious. Should he fall or slip he could well land on the spigot of the frames within the truck bed before hitting the floor.

In the words of our reader “Spotted this in Auckland, New Zealand. Contractor didn't have a large enough ladder so he put it on the back of his truck!

But is ita Death Wish? It is hardly the worst form of working at height that we have seen, and had he been using the ladder properly- perhaps a slightly higher one - it would have been hard to argue that it is, but given the way he appears to be leaning over backwards and on the verge of stability we are putting it in.
