New budget Kalmar fork trucks

Kalmar has launched a new range of lower cost heavy duty forklifts dubbed the Essential Range with capacities from 10 to 18 tonnes.

The company says that the new models have the same build quality and excellent safety etc….but at “a highly competitive price”. The new Essential range comprises 12 models which can be customised with a variety of power, mast, cabin and safety options.

The new Kalmar Essential Range has a choice of mast heights with capacities from 10 to 18 tonnes

They feature an easy maintenance electrical system, common driver interface, high quality components and a strong stable and durable chassis. A new cab is said to offer improved driver comfort and safety with good all-round visibility, power steering and easy lift operation as well as non-slip steps and handrails. Compatibility with Kalmar SmartFleet equipment monitoring and optimisation tool that helps analyse performance data and productivity is also included.

Director, forklift trucks Peter Ivarsson said: "The new Essential Range complements our current range of medium sized forklifts by providing a value based choice for our customers. The Essential range is designed to exceed customers' expectations by delivering everything they need in a medium sized forklift. Our forklifts have proven themselves in the most demanding lifting applications around the world, and this new range will further strengthen their reputation for quality, reliability, operator comfort available for all."

The new models were launched in Europe yesterday at a sales conference in Lidhult, Sweden, the US launch in Florida was held two weeks ago.

Kalmar says the new lower cost models have the same build quality as its pricier machines
