Magni moves into Japan

Magni Tescopic Handlers has appointed Maruka Machinery company as its exclusive distributor for Japan.

Maruka Machinery will market the entire Magni range including 360 degree and heavy duty models, as well as the new 6,000kg/20 metre TH 6.20 fixed frame telehandler. The distribution contract was agreed and signed by Magni chief executive Ricardo Magni and Maruka Machinery chief executive Toshiaki Takeshita.

Maruka was established in Osaka in 1946 as an import-export company for a wide range of products including paper, woolen textiles, bicycles, bearings and tools. Today it operates from four locations in Japan - Osaka, Shizuoka, Nagoya and Tokyo - and has operations in 21 countries. It distributes a wide range of products from machines tools to catering equipment. However its construction division focuses on lifting equipment, including Rough Terrain and crawler cranes, and trading used equipment. It also offers its equipment for rent.

Ricardo Magni said: “Maruka Machinery is an ideal partner for us, its multi-year experience in the industrial and construction sectors and their presence in the country with multiple locations is a prerogative definitely essential to provide the final customer with a professional service as complete as possible, both from the point of view of sales and after-sales service. In these values we find a common point and we are convinced that mutual collaboration can be a starting point to grow and establish a solid business relationship.”

“This new partnership represents a very important step for us, in fact this allows us to access a market where telescopic concept, fixed or rotating, is still very new, but it certainly has a great potential to grow well and become an important market for both companies. Indeed, Japan is characterised by a highly mechanised and modern market, highly interested in high quality and performances and, above all, has a strong vertical development and is therefore perfect for our range of rotating telescopic handlers, which is the highest range in the world.”
