A close one

An unfortunate incident occurred yesterday on a job in North East England while a crawler crane was laying down 76 metres of boom and luffing jib.

The crane was rigged with a 38 metre boom and a similar length jib

The crane, a 100 tonne Liebherr LR1100 owned by Weldex, was apparently rigged with 38 metres of boom plus a jib of a similar length. It lost stability causing the tracks to lift off the ground by a few metres before stopping. We understand that no one was hurt in the incident and that external damage was relatively minor. It could certainly have been far far worse.
