Maltech Expands

Austrian aerial lift and telehandler rental company Maltech has invested €7.6 million in the further expansion of its rental fleet.

The investment includes that 208 new work platforms, as well as telehandlers and forklifts. It will take the fleet to almost 1,900 units operating from Maltech locations in Austria, Hungary and Slovakia.

The new investment includes a 65 metre Ruthmann truck mount, a number of 19 metre 3.5 tonne truck mounts, a 150ft JLG1500SJ telescopic and a range of scissor lifts ranging from 32 to 40ft models, some of which with hybrid drive.

Director Thomas Kumposcht said: "The investment in hybrid drive units, which we have already begun over the past few years, continues this year and we expect the trend to continue in this direction in the future becomes."

Director Gregor Klopf added: "The expansion of the rental fleet was absolutely necessary due to growing demand in 2016, with utilisation figures for the first quarter also showing positive trends. The new locations in Ansfelden near Linz and in Debrecen in east Hungary are also contributing to our growth, while the new location in Debrecen was expanded in February with larger offices and more workshop space."

Maltech has five branches in Austria, three branches in Hungary and one subsidiary in Slovakia.
