Twin Liebherrs for Whyte

Scottish rental company Whyte Cargo Handlers has taken delivery of two 130 tonne Liebherr LTM 1130-5.1 All Terrain cranes.

The five axle LTM 1130-5.1 features a 60 metre main boom plus a 33 metre bi-fold swing away extension. The cranes have been purchased with the elevating cab option, the first two of its kind in the UK. The elevated crane cab provides an eye level of 8.1 metres, ideal for working over high sided ships or containers.

Managing director John Mullen said: "Looking resplendent in the company colours and proudly bearing the company’s logo, these new general purpose cranes will be utilised on a wide range of cargoes in the north east of Scotland, such as chain handling, pipe loading and discharge, and for offshore supply vessels. The cranes are also fully equipped for mobile grabbing operations and the many bulk cargoes they will handle in the supply chain include fertilisers, grain, salt and coal."

Based in Ferryden, Montrose, Whyte Cargo Handlers has a fleet of All Terrain cranes, forklift trucks and telehandlers and operates across a number of Scottish ports including Aberdeen, Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Inverness, Invergordon and Rosyth on the Forth.
