Atlas unveils new crane

German loader crane manufacturer Atlas has unveiled a new 4.6 tonne/22 metre loader crane, the 290.2E.

The crane boasts eight hydraulic extensions and can lift up to 4.6 tonnes or 620kg at its longest reach of 20.74 metres. The 290.2E has a total weight of 5.3 tonnes and offers a slewing range of 410 degrees.

Atlas' new 290.2E loader crane

The first company to take delivery of the new loader crane on a four axle truck is Luxembourg based Delvaux from Atlas dealer Carosserie Comes.

Carosserie Comes director Frank Hartmann said: "First and foremost, we listen to our customer. Which are the tasks he needs the loader crane for, which loads must be moved how often, if there are any requirements with regard to the length of the crane etc. We collect a lot of data and then prepare a profile of the required loader crane with all technical details. Only when the requirement profile corresponding to the practical reality of the job is available, we make a specific proposal to the customer."
