Fire brings down tower crane
A massive fire at a new apartment block in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina last night, caused a tower crane on the project to collapse.

The site before the fire
The blaze really took hold and the hammer head crane did not stand a chance, fortunately it was not a great deal higher than the building – when the fire started - so that the collapse when it came caused little to no disruption outside of the area affected by the fire. It was actually quite surprising how much heat the crane managed to sustain before it did finally go over backwards.
