Palfinger completes Solid range

Palfinger has announced six new models in its ‘Solid’ rage with load moments of between five and 19 tonne/metres.

The six models are the PK 13.501 SLD 1, the PK 13.501 SLD 3, the PK 14.001 SLD 3, the PK 14.501 SLD 5, the PK 13.501K SLD 3 and the PK 14.501K SLD 5.

The PK 13.501 SLD 1 and PK 13.501 SLD 3 have load moments of 13.1 tonne/metres. The PK 14.001 SLD 3 is 14 tonne /metres and the PK 14.501 SLD 5 offers 14.5 tonne/metres. The cranes are available with up to five hydraulic extensions for an outreach of 14.8 metres.

The new cranes have been designed with an eye towards the road maintenance and municipality market, for simple loader work with does not require any special equipment. Designed to be simple, robust and reliable. Replacing the SLD series the new cranes have a higher lifting capacity with similar or lower overall weight. They are also equipped with High Speed Extension boosting boom extension speed by up to 30 percent.

The Palfinger PK 14501 SLD5


The new cranes are all equipped with Single Link Plus for working close in to the truck, while providing articulation of up to 15 degrees, above horizontal. The crane fabrications are blast-hardened with cut wire pellets, electrostatically treated with a zinc phosphate Cathodic Dip Protection coating and finished with a two-pack paint.

The PK 13.501 SLD 1 is the non-CE entry-level model without overload protection.
The PK 13.501 SLD 3 base unit features Paltronic overload protection and manual controls. An optional 2.5 tonne cable winch on the knuckle boom is available separately.
The PK 14.001 SLD 3 is the same as the 13.501 but also features hydraulic HPLS solution for use in non-CE-markets.
The PK 14.501 SLD 5 is the top of the range with Paltronic overload, E-HPLS which reduces crane speed where required to increase lifting power , remote controls and a load-sensing control valve.

The SLD models can all be equipped with the company’s new HPSC-E stability monitoring system, with variable positioning of the stabilisers.

K models with shortened knuckle boom, HPLS and up to three hydraulic extension booms, are also available. The K model is designed to allow the boom to be be stored on the platform when a grab bucket is fitted. K-models area available with up to four hydraulic extensions for an outreach of up to 11.7 metres. The PK 13.501K SLD 3 has a load moment of 13.2 tonne/metres and the PK 14.501K SLD 5 is 14.6 tonne/metres.
