The machines were supplied by Genie distributor Al Mahroos through Abu Dhabi equipment provider Al Masaood Trucks and Equipment. They are being used for maintenance at the new linked theme park, which includes Logoland, Motiongate Dubai and Bollywood Parks, water parks and hotels.

The park covers 575 acres, and cost an initial $1.3 billion. The park has made great efforts to be as environmentally friendly as possible, particularly for the long term operation of the park. Which opened in December.

The Z-60/37 DC provides a working height of 20 metres, 11.15 metres of outreach, and an up-and-over clearance of 7.4 metres, with four wheel direct EC electric drive motors and non marking rough terrain tyres.

Dubai Parks assistant fleet manager Nishad Abdulla said: “Our company prides itself in complying with the highest European worksite health and safety standards. With this in mind, we are always looking for new solutions that suit our needs in terms of productivity and the quality of worksite conditions. Thanks to its excellent range of motion, versatile, quiet, clean performance and four-wheel drive abilities, this new Genie model is an excellent and cost-effective alternative to separate diesel and electric powered units. For us, the Z-60/37DC boom definitely ticks all the right boxes.”

“Since part of the resort is already open to the public, low noise levels and emissions-free operation are an absolute ‘must have’ that allow us to operate these machines all day long without disturbing our visitors. Other key features that we find particularly useful the Genie FastMast system that enables the boom to be moved from full height to the ground and back with just one boom function. And the dual parallel linkage that allows operators to vertically track a building by simply raising or lowering the secondary boom is very pratical and a good time saver. Its narrow footprint, four-wheel drive and non-marking tyres are also an excellent match for work outdoors on rough ground and indoors where space is often limited.”
