Prangl back in Vienna after 36 years

Austrian crane and access rental company Prangl has moved its headquarters back to Vienna with the opening of its new facility.

The company has developed a new purpose built 67,000 square metre facility in Liesing, South West Vienna. Over 265 employees will be based at the new headquarters. The move represents a return to the city where it was founded after an absence of 36 years.

The company acquired the green field site for the new facility which offers more than double the space of its previous location in Brunn am Gebirge back in 2005 but delayed work during the economic crisis. Construction began in 2015 and is now operational. In addition to the extra space and facilities the new location has superior road access among it many advantages.

Chief executive Christian Prangl said: "Thanks to the good transport connections, the available space and the support of the Vienna Business Agency, we decided to go back to Vienna. The company was founded in 1965 in Simmering. Then In 1980 we relocated to Brunn am Gebirge, Niederösterreich “

Vienna’s economic secretary Renate Brauner added: "The return of a successful family business like Prangl to Vienna shows that the city can offer solutions for companies with the most diverse requirements, which is only possible in a densely populated metropolis like this if all sides approach the challenges with a flexible attitude and there is the necessary scope.”

The move in is well underway

Prangl runs a fleet of over 200 cranes and 2,000 aerial lifts along with a substantial number of telehandlers and operates a substantial heavy transport and rigging business. It employs around 650 with revenues on the region of €93.2 million.
