Two Demags for Kavanagh

Irish crane rental company Kavanagh Crane Hire has taken delivery of two Demag All Terrain cranes, a 100 tonne AC 100-4L and a 220 tonne AC 220-5, both are the first of of their type to arrive in Ireland.

The four axle AC 100-4L has a 59.4 metre main boom and reaches 81.7 metres with on board swingaway extensions. The five axle AC 220-5 features an eight section 78 metre main boom plus a 21 metre bi-fold swingaway extension to achieve a maximum tip height of 102 metres.

Kavanagh's new AC 220-5 and AC 100-4L


Director Paul Kavanagh said: “Demag is a name which we have trusted for many years and we were delighted to see this return last year. We were also very impressed with the specifications of both the AC 220-5 and the AC 100-4L, particularly their boom lengths, which led us to placing the orders.”

Established in 1973, Kavanagh Crane Hire has a fleet of 55 cranes operating from four depots, in Dublin, Wexford, Carlow and Waterford. Its fleet ranges from a 25 tonne Terex ATT 300-2 city crane to a 500 tonne Demag AC500-2 All Terrain crane.
