EWPA Inspector programme goes live

Australia’s Elevating Work Platform Association's – EWPA – Registered Inspector Programme, went live this morning and is available now for all member companies.

The national initiative formally assesses and verifies inspectors to ensure that they possess the level of experience and expertise required to undertake periodic /annual inspections of aerial work platforms as stated in Australian Standard AS2550.10.

The Standard stipulates that a Competent Person is required to complete periodic inspections. The association therefore developed the programme to allow member companies to obtain a good quality relevant third party certification for staff that they feel are competent to carry out such inspections.

The EWPA will assess an inspector’s collective training, qualifications and experience and determine if they are competent to perform periodic inspections on mobile elevating work platforms as stated in AS2550.10. “A person who has acquired through training, qualification, experience or a combination of these, the knowledge and skill enabling that person to correctly perform the required task. “
