Snorkel to launch TM16

Snorkel is to launch a direct electric drive and 16ft version of its popular TM12 self-propelled mast type lift this March

The production version of electric drive of the 12ft machine - the TM12E – shown as a prototype at the ARA/Rental show last year and then at Bauma - will debut at this year’s event in late February, the new electric drive draws half the power when travelling and there offers a substantially longer battery life and the additional benefit of a true zero inside turning radius. The lift also features a 500mm roll-out extension as standard.

The new version of the TM12 - the Snorkel TM12E

No details of the new TM16E also with standard electric drive and deck extension have been revealed, but it is expected to weigh just under 1,000kg allowing it to be transported in a one tonne elevator. The new machine will go head to head with Skyjacks SJ16 which was shown as a concept machine in 2008 with production starting at the end of 2011.

Vertikal Comment

A higher version of the TM12 was first requested shortly after the original UpRight TM12 was unveiled in 1994, but at that time would have required substantial componentry changes and too much additional weight. Since then the product has put on well over 200kg of weight, with the new model weighing 884kg - making a 16ft version eminently practical. Add to this the fact that Skyjack has already carved out a reasonable market for the higher model- spurred on perhaps by the fact that 19ft scissor lifts are now way beyond the capacity of a small elevator- the original MX19 weighed under 1,000kg.

More details on the new machine will be relayed from the two shows in a couple of months time.

Sorry for my poor English language below but no matter John: I don't worry going cuckoo if not happened so far. Cheers!

...and: SNORKEL's TM-series and ALL their new electric scissors offer not only proportional lifting but also proportional lowering and best paint job in the industry today next to a lot of other new features (see https://schuler-schuler.ch/assets/products/snorkel/snorkel/s3219e/files/New-Generation-SNORKEL-Scherenbuehnen-Serie-III.pdf) and 2 years full warranty + 5 years structural warranty. It's time to compare appels with appels and not only look at the working heights anymore. SNORKEL's quality improved XTREME since Don Ahern took over the business.
