New paint facility for AFI

UK rental company AFI has invested £280,000 in a new paint shop, which it claims is the largest such facility in the UK powered access rental market.

The new facility is contained in a brand new building and includes a state of the art blasting booth to remove loose paint and surface corrosion from machines prior to paint. The new shop will allow the company to paint up to 500 machines a year, both from the fleet and those intended for resale. The company has also added a second paint booth by converting its previous blasting room.

Director Nick Higgins said: “We already have one of the youngest hire fleets in the industry, with our average machine age being only four and a half years, this additional paint shop investment will further ensure that our machines remain in the best possible condition.”
