Four more Hewden depots sold

UK rental company Morris Leslie has acquired four Hewden depots - Inverness, Whitehaven, Willenhall and Bedford, with all 38 employees transferring to company.

We do not yet have details of this latest deal but it is certain to include a fair few telehandlers giving Morris Leslie the fourth largest telehandler rental fleet in the country. In this years Cranes & Access Top 30 rental companies it was fifth, just behind Hewden. The new depots also take the Morris Leslie network to 13 locaitons.

Colin Dempster of Hewden’s administrator EY said: “We are pleased to be able to arrange the sale of these depots as ongoing concerns, so that the employees and business can continue in these locations.”

The sale takes the number of depots sold as going concerns so far to eight, plus the specialist on site locations acquired by A-Plant thought to number around nine or 10, in addition around 200 out of the 744 jobs have been saved so far.
