First Liebherr for Stoddart

Scottish rental company Stoddart Crane Hire has taken delivery of its first Liebherr All Terrain crane, a 60 tonne LTM 1060-3.1.

The three axle crane has a five section 48 metre main boom and a 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, providing a maximum tip height of 67 metres, and a maximum radius of 48 metres. It is also able to carry 12.8 tonnes of counterweight within the UK’s 16 tonne STGO axle loadings.

Managing director David Stoddard said: “This is our first new Liebherr and we chose the LTM 1060-3.1 because a 48 metre boom with three axles means it’s both compact and flexible, which will make it popular with clients for a range of applications. We also opted to include Liebherr’s VarioBase system for increased capability in tight spots and enhanced safety. We were also confident that Liebherr would give us good local backup and support, which is the assurance you need when making a significant investment in new machinery.”

Based in Muir of Ord in the Scottish Highlands, family-run Stoddart has provided crane rental since 2004. Its fleet includes Tadano, Terex, Demag, Coles, Grove, PPM and now Liebherr cranes.
