Bucket truck fall

A linesman was seriously injured yesterday when he fell while working from a platform in Middleton, South Australia.

The man, said to be in his 20s, was installing a pole mounted transformer when the incident occurred. We do not know if he fell out of the platform – or the platform suddenly dropped. Reports we have received suggest that the top boom cylinder allowed it to drop suddenly until it crashed into the chassis BUT this has not been confirmed.

The investigation into what happened gets underway

The injured man was rushed to hospital in Adelaide where he was reported to be suffering from serious back injuries.
