Truck mount overturn

A truck mounted lift overturned as it struck a roundabout in thick fog last night in Russ, near Strasbourg, France

The platform, owned by Locnacelle was traveling along the D140 expressway in thick fog at around 22:00, when it came unexpectedly upon the roundabout and was simply going too fast to take it. The momentum into the curve caused it to flip onto its side, blocking the road but fortunately the driver was unhurt and no other vehicle was involved in the incident.

The recovery was postponed until the morning due to the fog. A crew arrived the morning and were quickly able to lift the machine back onto its wheels.

This is not rocket science! In bad weather we must turn on all available lights and slow down or else don't try to move the rig until ether lifts.
In our vicinity motorists tend to drive in dawn and dusk and wet weather with headlights off. They must think they will save money on the utility bill. They do not think about saving an Accident by being more visible.

Hopefully no one was hurt in this incident. Weather conditions should always be a part of everyones risk assessment even when travelling.
