From Brazil to Colombia

Colombian crane rental company Potenco has taken delivery of a second hand 100 tonne Liebherr LTM 1100-4.1 All Terrain crane.

The crane features a 52 metre main boom, plus a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. It also came with the 7 to 14 metre telescopic lattice extension, to which the swingaway can be added to provide the maximum tip height of 90 metres. The four axle chassis has eight wheel drive and eight wheel steer, ideal for some of the mountainous areas the crane will have to work in.

Potenco runs a fleet of 36 tower cranes and has been using a 60 tonne Liebherr LTM 1060/2 for some time, but found that the crane lacked the reach and capacity for erecting its larger tower cranes installations, and therefore started looking for a larger second hand All Terrain crane. It approached Liebherr Columbia, which found the ideal crane at Liebherr Brazil, which transferred the crane to its Columbian sister company in Barranquilla to complete the sale.

Managing director Diego Alejandro Giraldo Hernández said: "One of the main decision-making criteria for purchasing the Liebherr LTM 1100-4.1 was its enormous lifting capacities and its high safety standards. Furthermore, Liebherr has become a major strategic partner for our business with fast response times thanks to its sales and service representatives with a local spare parts warehouse."
